Costco Case Comment Published

Our thanks to Fame Weekly newspaper for publishing our case comment on Goody v. Costco Wholesale Corporation Limited, which dealt with maintenance procedures of a busy Costco store arising from a slip and fall accident of a customer.

Hellenic Canadian Lawyers’ Association Update

The Hellenic Canadian Lawyer’s Assocation (HCLA) held their 2010 President’s Dinner recently and our George Bougadis, former HCLA President (2004 to 2006) was in attendance.

The HCLA continues to be an important association allowing members to give back to the community.

As one example, the HCLA is running a free legal clinic for the community, providing quality legal advice to the community. This will be through the Greek Community of Toronto Social Services.

This legal aid clinic is approved by Pro Bono Law Ontario and will serve to help meet the needs of the Greek community in Toronto.… Continue Reading

An interesting recent case confirms the gut reaction of most readers, as to whether they should plead guilty to a HTA (Highway Traffic Act) charge if they feel, in fact, that they are not liable for the accident resulting in the charge.

Joga Chahal > Flood Relief Fundraiser

Joga Chahal, Vice President of Canadian Association of South Asian Lawyers (CASAL), participated in the Pakistan Flood Relief  Fundraiser on November 4, 2010, at Azuba Restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario.

Over 75 lawyers and distinguished members from the South Asian community attended this event. All proceeds raised from this event went to Global Medic, a Canadian charity on the ground in Pakistan  providing emergency relief to those affected by the Pakistan Floods.
